Hello everyone!

My name is Christina Nicole Giannikas and I am the founder of CG Education & Research Consultancy.

​

I am an Educational & Research Consultant, a teacher trainer, an applied linguist, an online tutor, researcher, materials writer and editor.

 

I am actively involved in the field of Teacher Education and train pre-service/in-service ELT teachers in Higher Education. I have also been Chair of the EuroCALL Teacher Education SIG for the last four years and the EuroCALL National Contact for Greece. As a consultant, I have worked  with publishers, Ministries of Education and educational institutions worldwide. I also work in Higher Education where I lecture courses in Applied Linguistics.

My research interests are based in the field of Applied Linguistics, specializing in the areas of Early Language Learning, Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL), policies in language education, and professional development in ELT. I have published in these fields extensively and have presented my work at local and international conferences and online events. 

​

Teacher Training: Premium Program

Course overview:

The Premium Teacher Training Program provides a foundation in learning and teaching English as a Foreign Language by encouraging interactive and student-centred approaches. The program provides trainees with a selection of Mix & Match sessions, where trainees or schools can select a combination of online sessions or one-off online sessions. Successful trainees will be awarded a certificate of completion. The Premium Program includes one-off or Mix & Match training in the following areas:

Teacher Training: Silver Program

Course Overview:

The Silver Program offers a selection of 4-week modules. Trainees and/or institutions can choose a module according to their needs. Each module will consist of 4 synchronous sessions and asynchronous weekly material. Successful trainees will be awarded a certificate of completion. The four modules are:

1. Silver 1 Module: Teaching Young Learners Online

The Silver 1 Module will offer trainees practical ideas and approaches of teaching Young Learners online according to research conducted in the field. More specifically, the module will focus on: â€‹â€‹

  • How to use stories, dialogues and games in an online context 

  • Approaches to online project-based learning

  • How to manage the online learning environments

  • How to use audio visual aids effectively 

  • How to assess Young Learners online

2. Silver 2 Module: Teaching EAP/ESP Online

The Silver 2 Module will offer trainees practical ideas and approaches of teaching EAP/ESP courses that take place in an online or onsite learning environment. More specifically, the module will focus on:​​

  • Introducing technology-enhanced learning environments

  • Introducing presentation skills

  • Introducing note-taking skills

  • How to manage the online learning environments

  • How to evaluate EAP/ESP material

3. Silver 3 Module: Digital Pedagogy

The Silver 3 Module introduces effective approaches to digital technology for YLs in ELT throughout their developmental stages, and recommendations for learning by using digital technologies. The module will focus on:

  • Introducing Digital Pedagogy in pre-primary and primary ELT

  • Approaches to digital tools according to the developmental stages

  • Managing the digital learning environment

  • How to use audio visual aids effectively in each stage 

  • Digital literacies and e-safety for young learners

4. Silver 4 Module: Conducting Research Online 

The Silver 4 Module introduces practitioners and novice researchers to qualitative and quantitive research methods conducted online. 

Practitioners’ research has become more important than ever before, since the likelihood that the collective knowledge of the ELT community can help advance the new norms of teaching practices in these troubled times.

The Silver 4 Module aims to equip practitioners and novice researchers with the following much needed assets:

  • How to design an online research study

  • How to conduct data collection online

  • How to analyse data 

  • Ethics in online research

  • How to share findings

  • How to select dissemination avenues

Teacher Training: Gold Program 

Course Overview:

The Gold Program offers a selection of 6-week modules. Trainees and/or institutions can choose a module according to their professional needs. Each module will consist of 6 synchronous sessions and asynchronous weekly material. Successful trainees will be awarded a certificate of completion. The four modules are:

1. Gold 1 Module: Teaching Young Learners (Pre-primary & Primary)

  • Creating asynchronous material for young learners
